It is hard for some people to believe that we are in an environmental crisis.  Day to day, things seem fine.  Sure, there’s been a bad storm or two, but things don’t seem all that dire.  It is even harder to see that our actions have any effect on our environment.  After all, most of us drive to work every day and nothing seems to change.  We can still breathe our air, drink our water, and plant beautiful gardens.  So what’s the big deal?

The problem with becoming aware of the environmental crisis is that the effects that individuals have on the environment are not immediately noticeable.  However, when the actions of number of individuals are analyzed by a group over time, trends start to emerge.  And the trends that have started to emerge are alarming.

The Coalition also offers an array of additional educational opportunities for our parish and the larger community.  These programs range from ongoing speaker series to facilitated discussions on specific advocacy issues to intensive 5-10 week courses on emergent issues of justice and peace.  For more information on these, please see our Education page.
