"...For My House shall be called
A house of prayer for all peoples."
Isaiah 56.7
While hunger is a human issue – one that transcends religious, cultural, political, national, and ethnic difference – the Franciscan Coalition for Justice and Peace is rooted in a Christian, Catholic, and Franciscan concern for our neighbor.
We are motivated by deeply held religious convictions to respond to the human needs of our hungry brothers and sisters.
Rooted as we are in our particular faith tradition, we recognize and honor the diversity of faith traditions that similarly call the faithful to seek justice for the hungry. Accordingly, we plan to come together with people of all faiths to open and close our time together in prayer.
In so doing, we will share in the richness of our diverse traditions and ready our hearts to respond to the needs of the world with compassion and conviction.
