Take Action!

Hunger is a pervasive and growing problem in our world.

It is an issue that transcends religious, cultural, political, national, and ethnic differences.

It is a human problem.

And we believe that the global human family can together alleviate hunger only if we have the will to do so.

To this end, we have assembled a cast of distinguished hunger activists and advocates who will offer a deeper understanding of the root causes of hunger... and what we (individually and collectively) can do to address hunger at home and abroad.

We will begin Friday (Feb. 27) with an Oxfam Hunger Banquet and a specia videol presentation from documentary filmmaker, Gerry Straub.

David Beckmann, President of Bread for the World and global leader in advocacy on behalf of the hungry, will headline the conference, offering a keynote address on Saturday (Feb. 28).

Flanking David Beckmann will be a cadre of distinguished speakers in six distinct breakout sessions:

- Global Hunger: Systems, Snafus, and (Possible) Solutions

- Local Hunger: Systems, Snafus, and (Possible) Solutions

- Advocacy & Public Policy

- Climate Change & Hunger

- Documentary & Social Change

- Student Activism

The conference will open and close with an interfaith prayer services, reflecting the impetus our diverse faith traditions to address this pressing issue.

Participants will leave the conference with a greater awareness of hunger in their own back yard – and across the world.  Concrete action steps for individuals and communities will be a central feature of this gathering – you will not leave wondering what you can do!

So join us as we, together, take this step towards alleviating hunger in our world.
